  • Frankston - Clean Sweep of Awards

  • Member for Frankston Geoff Shaw MP, together with the Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith, congratulated the finalists and winners for the 2011 Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria awards.

    Frankston was a finalist in eleven categories and received five awards including the Clean Beach and Friendly Beach of the Year,” Mr Shaw said.

  • Geoff Shaw MP, Member for Frankston welcomed Premier Ted Baillieu's announcement of $36 million for the redevelopment and expansion of Frankston Hospital to add 64 additional medical, surgical and intensive care beds and two additional special care nursery cots plus another $5 million for 24 new short-stay beds for patients who present to the Emergency Department.

  • Hosting the newly-created Ironman Asia Pacific Championship Melbourne was a massive boost for Frankston’s economy and image.

    The day perfectly showcased the Frankston foreshore and our wonderful city to advantage to the thousands of spectators who lined the course and a global television audience.

    It’s estimated the Ironman generated an economic benefit of approximately $10 million, with businesses in Frankston and other areas benefitting from booming trade plus strong tourism and broadcast benefits for Victoria.
